Description

Right next door to the premium appellation of Saint-Émilion (known for producing some of the world's most sought-after Bordeaux) is the hidden gem of Castillon, which is home to wine pioneer Tony Laithwaite's Château La Clarière. Since Tony took over the estate in 1984, its flagship wine-this rich, harmonious blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon-has won more than 100 awards (including more than 20 golds). The 2022 edition has already won two gold medals in two top French competitions. And those judges didn't even get a chance to taste it alongside a juicy Omaha Steak. Tasting Notes: Medium- to full-bodied red wine with ripe plum, blackberry, and warming spice notes. Velvety tannins (developed over a 16-month slumber in fine French oak barrels) introduce the long, complex finish. Food Pairings: Steak, burgers, barbecue, pork, duck, roasted vegetables, aged cheeses. If this vintage sells out, we will always substitute it with a wine of equal or greater value. Château La Clarière By Omaha Steaks.
