The 2023 Ramey Wine Cellars Rochioli Vineyard Chardonnay shines a bright straw-yellow color and opens with active aromas of citrus, peach fuzz, and a subtle floral lift. Nicely textured and beautifully balanced, it delivers a persistent core of ripe orchard fruit and lively citrus, while a pleasing mineral thread adds dimension and focus to its layered, refreshing finish. Pair it with Dungeness crab ravioli in a lemon-brown-butter sauce with a whisper of tarragon-a polished little California luxury that lets the wine's citrus energy, creamy texture, and mineral finish do all the talking. It holds its crisp green apple and mineral flavors rather tightly now, suggesting a good potential for further aging. Full-bodied. Drinkable now and best from 2030. A stunning version, with a laser beam of pear, lemon cream and Honeycrisp apple, plus crunchy star fruit, quince, nectarine and lemon salt notes.
