Colgin Jubilation 2022

ubilation is Colgin's Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine created with a selection of barrels that display earlier drinking characteristics from the winery's three hillside vineyards. ubilation is a wine ready to enjoy now, with the pedigree to age gracefully in the cellar, maintaining the Colgin Cellars' hallmarks of perfume, freshness, and minerality. Much more accessible and voluptuous than the 2021, the 2022 Jubilation By Colgin offers darker currants, saddle leather, savory flowers, and spicy, chocolaty notes. Based on 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot from IX Estate, Tychson Hill, and Vine Hill Ranch aged 20 months in French oak, it's medium to full-bodied, round, graceful, and balanced, with polished tannins and outstanding length. I love it today but see no reason it shouldn't keep for 15-20 years. Drink 2025-2045. Graphite, red fruit, orange peel and violet aromas follow through to a medium body with firm tannins and a crunchy finish. Shows balance and brightness. The 2022 Jubilation is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. Aromatic and medium in body, with captivating finesse, the 2022 is seriously beautiful. I admire its precision, inner perfume and energy. Bright red-toned fruit, blood orange, spice and pomegranate are beautifully pushed forward. This is a fabulous effort made all the more notable by the challenges of the growing season.
