This shuttle style was invented by Lady Katherin Hoare for her mother to use after she lost her sight so she could continue to tat.
The shuttle is shown and described in her book "The Art Of Tatting" which we also stock. This one is made from Abalone and is approximately 3.5" in length.
Along with our more exotic shuttles, we carry inexpensive plastic tatting shuttles.

The new style Belgian square bobbins! These are made from rosewood and are approximately 4 inches long. The square shape is nice as they are less likely to roll on the pillow. Smooth and well finished.
Made by master wood turner Bill Schmidt, these are some of the finest English bobbins you will ever find. Super smooth. Highly Polished. All are drilled for spangling. PRICED PER PAIR.
Hand-crafted from a material called "dymondwood", these shuttles feel as good as they look. Each one is different - we will choose one for you.
