Schacht Rigid Heddle Looms
Rigid Heddle Looms have served weavers well for centuries with their clever shedding device that also functions as a beater. The Schacht rigid heddle loom is designed to make your weaving quick and easy. Plain weaves can be woven by simply moving the heddle up and down. Finger-manipulated weaves and pick-up provide an even wider range of patterns and weave structures.
Both cloth and warp beams have fine toothed nylon ratchets, providing precise tension control. Fabrics up to five yards long can be woven, depending on the thickness of the yarns you use. The heddle blocks on the sides of the loom hold the rigid heddle in either the up or down position so that your hands are free to throw the shuttle. There are slots in the top of the heddle blocks to hold the heddle firmly in a neutral position while you are warping the loom.
Available in 20" and 25" weaving widths, this rigid heddle loom is made of hard maple and is hand rubbed with a Danish oil finish.
Choose an 8, 10 or 12 dent heddle to come with the loom. Order 8, 10 or 12 dent heddles as options for finer or thicker yarns.
The loom is shown attached to the "Trestle Stand". The stand is an option and does not come with the loom - order separately. A new accessory package is now included that includes a warping peg, a stick shuttle, a threading hook, and the new Rigid Heddle Loom Table Stand.
