Nun Better Cookbook

Nun Better is a festival of Cajun culinary delights ranging from “Great Beginnings” to “Gumbos” to “Sweets” flavored with colorful stories captured from the 90 year history of St. Cecilia School. Cleverly illustrated by a third generation graduate, Nun Better is a charming cookbook chronicling the heritage of the historic rural town of Broussard, Louisiana. Proceeds benefit the St. Cecilia School in its mission of education.

In Louisiana, Food is a way of life--not just something you eat. When you get those great "family recipes", you know they're the best!

From the Introduction - Bonjour Mes Amis (hello Friends). Good food (bon manger), good times (bon temps) and a joy of living (joie de vivre) define our community. The preparation and enjoyment of wonderful meals have always been a blessing in the Acadian culture of southwest Louisiana where we are always willing to let the good times roll (laissez les bons temps rouler). We are pleased to share our blessing with you.....

A good customer of ours suggested we add this cookbook to our offerings. Following their lead, I was thrilled to find it was published by St. Celcilia School in Broussard where I have an aunt still living who taught there for years. Calling the school and church, I meet a delightful lady who handles the marketing and graduated with my mother in law....who describes her as beautiful inside as out. Now that is what Cajun family and food are about .... a way of life!!!
