Don't be deceived by the size of this knife. The petite chef's knife is a tiny titan of a knife, made in Solingen, Germany, of forged non-staining high-carbon molybedum/vanadium steel. Its construction equals its bigger brothers in every way except the blade is short-- only 4".

For the full-sized chef it's useful for chopping small amounts of herbs, ginger, garlic, shallots; but Messermeister designed this mini-knife especially with the smaller chef in mind, a knife for those uncomfortable wielding the big 9" or 10" knife.
