Great White Shark Jaw
Carcharodon carcharias
This replica of the original jaw was prepared by Dr. Gordon Hubbell, a leading researcher in sharks, and featured often on The Discovery Channel. According to Dr. Hubbell, he estimates this shark to be a female and was 19' 6". He knows of none found larger. The females grow larger than males. The original specimen was brought to Sea World in San Diego and was caught off the Southern California coast. The jaw contains a total of 230 teeth (5 rows of 46).
