This starter set includes three of the most popular and versatile knives in the Messermeister cutlery line and the ones you reach for most often: the 8" hardworking chef knife, 6" utility slicing knife, and the 3-1/2" paring knife. Manufactured by Messermeister, a German cutlery tradition since 1866, these knives are crafted using an alloy of metals that increase hardness, resist corrosion, and prevent brittleness. These properties, and tempering the blade to a Rockwell hardness of 56-58, increase edge holding and wear resistance. The knives are forged, properly balanced, non-staining, and ready to last a lifetime of cutting. All three have a bolsterless heel, which means that the entire length of the blade can be used and resharpened as necessary. Packaged in a gift box, each knife is etched with the La Belle Cuisine-Fine Cookware logo, our seal of approval. After use, the knives should be hand-washed and dried. Never put in the dishwasher!
