With a hand-cut burr steel grinding mechanism, it adjusts from a coarse to fine grind by tightening the setscrew at the base of the mill.

For the freshest spices or coffee, begin by removing the top nut and cap. Fill with your favorite peppercorns or coffee beans, and replace the cap and nut. Grind by turning the handle clockwise. The pepper or coffee will be ground directly into the receiving cup.
