    BRAND: Vedic
    SKU_NUMBER: Org Kar J
    SALE_PRICE: $21.99  Regular Price: $21.99

Karela juice is an extract of pure Karela or Bitter Gourd or Bitter Melon.

Bitter gourd is popular for its ability to regulate blood sugar levels.

Scientifically, Bitter gourd reduces the amount of glucose that is released into the blood by inhibiting the enzymes that break down disaccharides to two monosaccharides (e.g. glucose)

Bitter Melon has a distinct warty exterior and an oblong shape. It is hollow in cross-section, with a relatively thin layer of flesh surrounding a central seed cavity filled with large, flat seeds and pith.

The fruit is most often consumed while it bears it’s green color. At this stage, the fruit's flesh is crunchy and watery in texture. The skin is tender and edible. Seeds and pith appear white in unripe fruits; they are not intensely bitter and can be removed before cooking.

Bitter Melon contains several biologically active compounds, chiefly momordicin I and momordicin II, and cucurbitacin B.

The plants contains also several bioactive glycosides (including momordin, charantin, charantosides, goyaglycosides, momordicosides) and other terpenoid compounds (including momordicin-28, momordicinin, momordicilin, momordenol, and momordol).

The somewhat astringent, Jamun fruit can be utilized for juice. Dried and powdered seeds of the fruit help to reduce the sugar level to help with diabetes, liver disorders and peptic ulcers.

Jamun or Jambul (Syzygium cumini), is a berry like fruit grown on an evergreen tropical tree from the flowering plant family Myrtaceae. Jamun is mot famously known for it’s use in the Indian system of Ayurveda for benefits among diabetics.

Jamun - also known as Jambhul / jambu / jambula / jamboola, Java plum, jamun, jaam / kalojaam, jamblang, jambolan, black plum, Damson plum, Duhat plum, Jambolan plum, or Portuguese plum, is half an inch to two inches - 1.25 to 5 cm in length.

When tender the fruit is usually green or light magenta in color, as it ripens slowly it becomes dark purple or completely black in coloration.

Each fruit is characterized by a smooth and thin skin, which is glossy and has an adherent surface. The fruit has an inner purple or white, very juicy pulp.

Each fruit normally encloses a single, oblong shaped, green or brown colored seed that can be about one and a half inches - four cm long.

Fruits from some varieties are seedless, while most varieties bear fruits with two to five seeds tightly compressed inside the leathery coat.

The taste of the fruit ranges from acid to somewhat sweet; the fruits tend to have an astringent effect and can therefore be unpalatable due to this property.

The jambul has been included among a number of herbal medicines found in different parts of the world, such as the bilberry which all have the unique ability to lower elevated blood sugar levels in the body especially in diabetics and hyperglycemic individuals.

Herbalist typically recommend remedies made from the jambul to counteract the deleterious effects of long term diabetes, in this common disease, the islet cells in the pancreas do not produce enough insulin - this enzyme helps glucose enter cells and is thus responsible for the regulation and control of glucose levels in the body. In middle age, many people in the modern world become susceptible to type II diabetes, this lifestyle disease is increasingly prevalent throughout much of the world as lifestyles and dietary habits change.

Herbal treatment with jambul remedy is effective during the early and mild stages of the disease, when it is also accompanied by a strict dietary regimen by the affected person.

The potent astringent effect of the jambul herbal remedy is useful in the treatment of persistent diarrhea and chronic bouts of dysentery in affected patients.

The traditional Indian Ayurvedic medicine, uses a combination formula made from the jambul and mango seeds ground into a powder - these two digestive disorders are treated using this remedy.

The strong carminative properties of the jambul remedy are also a very effective treatment for dealing with the symptoms of indigestion and other digestive complaints such as excessive gas.

Remedies made from the jambul help soothe chronic stomachache and ease abdominal cramps and aid in dispersing excess gas in the abdomen.

Jambul contains: phenols (methylxanthoxylin), tannins, alkaloid (jambosine), triterpenoids, volatile oil.

    Organic Triphala Juice

    BRAND: Vedic

    SALE_PRICE: $21.99  Regular Price: $21.99

  • Helps to maintain a healthy cholesterol level which is already in normal range

Triphala literally means Three (Tri) Fruits (Phalla).

As such Triphala is a combination of the three fruits: Amalaki (Phyllanthus emblica), Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica), and Haritaki (Terminalia chebula).

Due to its high nutritional value, Triphala uniquely cleanses and detoxifies at the deepest organic levels without depleting the body's reserves making it one of the most valuable herbal preparations in the world.

Triphala combines both nutritional as well as blood and liver cleansing actions. It has little function as a demulcent or lubricating laxative, however. It possesses some anthroquinones that help to stimulate bile flow and peristalsis.

The nutritional aspect is in the form of its high vitamin C content, and the presence of linoleic oil and other important nutrients that make it more of a tonic.

Many Indians consider Triphalla to be the ‘Mother’ from nature.

The reason is that Indian people believe that Triphala is able to care for the internal organs of the body as a mother cares for her children.

Each of the three herbal fruits of Triphala takes care of the body by gently promoting internal cleansing of all conditions of stagnation and excess while at the same time it improving digestion and assimilation.

The three fruits of Triphala (Harada, Amla and Bihara) each correspond to the "three humours" or "tridosha" of Indian Ayurvedic medicine. According to Ayurvedic theory, the body is composed of three doshas or humours.

Vata is sometimes translated as "wind" which corresponds to the mind and nervous system. Its nature is dry, cold, light and activating.

The second is pitta which is also translated as "fire" or "bile." It is responsible for all metabolic transformations including the digestion and assimilation of food as well as assimilation and clarity of thought and understanding. The nature of pitta is primarily hot, moist and light. Kapha is sometimes translated as the "water" or "mucus" humour and is responsible for all anabolic or building functions such as the development of muscle and bone tissue. Its nature is cool, moist and heavy.

Harada, having a bitter flavor, is associated with the vata humour and with elemenst of well air and space.

It treats imbalances and diseases of the vata humour.

Harada possesses laxative, astringent, lubricant, antiparasitical, alterative, antispasmodic and nervine properties.

It is therefore used to treat acute and chronic constipation, nervousness, anxiety and feelings of physical heaviness. Among Tibetans,

Harada is so highly revered for its purifying attributes that it is the small fruit that is depicted in the hands of the "medicine Buddha" in their sacred paintings or tankas.

Of the three fruits, Harada is the most laxative and contains anthroquinones similar to those found in rhubarb and cascara.

Amla has a sour flavor and corresponds to the pitta humour and the fire element in Ayurvedic medicine. It is a cooling tonic, astringent, mildly laxative, alterative, antipyretic. It is used to treat fire imbalances that include ulcers, inflammation of the stomach nd intestines, constipation, diarrhea, liver congestion, eruptions, infections and burning feelings throughout the body. In various studies, Amla has been shown to have mild anti-bacterial properties, as well as pronounced expectorant, anti-viral and cardiotonic activity.

Amla is the highest natural known source of vitamin C, having 20 times the vitamin C content of an orange. The vitamin C in Amla is also uniquely heat stable. Even when subjected to prolonged high heat, as in the making of the Ayurvedic tonic

    Organic Amla Juice (Indian Gooseberry)

    BRAND: Vedic
    SALE_PRICE: $21.99  Regular Price: $21.99

  • Helps promote healthy skin.
  • Support a healthy immune system
  • Maintain vitality.

The simple fact that ONE fruit of Amla (Indian Gooseberry) which is only 1 inch in diameter packs the same antiscorbutic value as two oranges and is the second richest natural source of anti-oxidant Vitamin C is reason enough to draw curiosity!

Amla or Indian Gooseberry (Phyllanthus emblica/Emblica officinalis) is best recognized for its richness of Vitamin C.

Another anti-oxidant found in gooseberry juice is superoxide dismutase. SOD (superoxide dismutase) is an important enzyme that many people are often deficient in. This enzyme is important in ridding the body of free radicals.

Amla grows on a deciduous tree of the Phyllanthaceae family. Amla fruit is nearly spherical, light greenish yellow, smooth and hard on appearance, with six vertical stripes or furrows.
Amla taste is best described as sour, bitter and astringent.

While research conducted on Amla is not nearly as extensive as that for Aloe Vera, it’s beneficial characteristics are getting increased attention with time.

Preliminary research has been conducted, demonstrating in vitro antiviral and antimicrobial properties.

One recent animal study reported that treatment with E. officinalis reduced severity of acute pancreatitis (induced by L-arginine in rats).

It also promoted the spontaneous repair and regeneration process of the pancreas occurring after an acute attack.

According to Ayurveda, Amla is purported to deliver a cooling effect on the body.

Not surprisingly Amla is a common main component of numerous Ayurvedic preparations such as Chyawanprash.
